Foz Do Iguacu, known for its breathtaking natural wonders, has finally welcomed a new gem to its hospitality scene. DoubleTree Hilton Foz do Iguazu, a recently opened hotel as of November 2022, has quickly become a beacon of affordable luxury in a town where reasonably priced and modern accommodation was hard to come by. Boasting 250 spacious guest rooms, this hotel offers an array of amenities including both indoor and outdoor pools, a tennis court, and two on-site restaurants. Plus, its prime location adjacent to the Catuaí Palladium shopping mall, a mere 15-minute cab ride from the airport, and just 25 minutes by car to the awe-inspiring Iguazu Falls on the Brazil side, makes it a convenient choice for travellers.
Rooms
The well-appointed and modern rooms at DoubleTree Hilton Foz do Iguazu have added a breath of fresh air to the hotel scene in town. These comfortable spaces are thoughtfully furnished and equipped with all the necessary amenities to ensure a pleasant stay. To add to the experience, complimentary water is provided daily, allowing you to quench your thirst at any time.
The marble bathrooms are an elegant touch, featuring a spacious walk-in shower, while the sink area is conveniently separated from the rest of the bathroom. And let’s not forget the large and cozy beds adorned with soft pillows, promising a restful night’s sleep after your adventures.
Restaurant
During our stay, we enjoyed breakfast at the on-site restaurant. The buffet spread offered a variety of options to suit different tastes, including local dishes, my favourite being Pao de Queijo (cheese puffs). Additionally, you could order eggs made to your liking, ensuring a satisfying start to the day. However, it’s worth noting that the breakfast choices lacked consistency of the basics and it was also a bit surprising not to find a toaster available, which could be improved upon. Nonetheless, the overall experience was pleasant, and we have no doubt that the hotel will improve on these minor teething problems.
Service and Facilities
The staff at DoubleTree Hilton Foz do Iguazu truly excel in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout your stay. Every team member is extremely friendly, ensuring that your needs are met with genuine care and attentiveness. One standout feature that sets this hotel apart is the delightful tradition of offering complimentary hot cookies at the reception area. These freshly baked treats serve as the perfect snack, adding a touch of sweetness to your day and reflecting the hotel’s commitment to providing an exceptional experience.
Some staff members have limited proficiency in English, which can occasionally pose challenges in communication. However, their genuine willingness to assist and ensure your comfort more than makes up for any language difficulties you may encounter. Plus, a smile and a friendly demeanour often transcend language barriers, ensuring that you feel welcomed and valued during your stay.
Finally, guests are treated to an impressive array of facilities. Fitness enthusiasts will delight in the generously sized gym, offering more than your typical workout space. During inclement weather, the indoor pool provides a relaxing retreat, while the exquisite outdoor double pool, strategically placed to capture the breathtaking sunset, promises unforgettable moments of leisure. For those with a passion for tennis, a full-sized court awaits, catering to your sporting desires with finesse.

DoubleTree Hilton Foz do Iguazu presents an excellent choice for travellers seeking both modern and affordable accommodation in Foz Do Iguacu. With its spacious and modern rooms, enticing amenities, and a prime location near popular attractions, this hotel truly raises the bar for accommodations in the area. Despite some minor breakfast inconsistencies, the overall experience leaves a lasting impression, ensuring a memorable stay amidst the wonders of Foz Do Iguacu.
